Hair extensions provide so many possibilities for ladies' lives, we can try different lengths, hair colors, and styles in a short time. In addition to different hair options, there are many different installation extension techniques.
Some of the most common methods are kneading and stitching, but in North America, Canada, and the United States, hairdressers in salons prefer to use another popular method, hand-tied hair extensions.
What is hand-tied hair weaving?
Hand-tied hair extension is a way for the stylist to tie tiny microbeads to a row of natural hair of a client. It is similar to the beaded weft method, which is very suitable for those who want to increase the volume and length that looks natural without putting it on the scalp or hair. For people with don't like heavy hair, its main advantage is that it is very thin, and customers will have the ultimate light and thin experience.
Hand-tied VS traditional ultra-thin seamless Tape-Ins
*The installation technology difference:
The hand-tied is the final result of the stylist using cotton or nylon thread to manually tie the weft to a row of beads. The number of rows and wefts used depends on the client's hair density, length, and overall needs. They are different from tape because the tape uses medical-grade adhesive tape to 'clamp' the natural hair of the client like a sandwich. It can be placed on different parts of the head and repeated over the entire head.
As with hand-tied hair extensions, the number of tape packs used will vary according to the client's hair density and hair goals.
*The installation time difference:
The hand-tied weft can usually be expected to take two to two and a half hours, while the tape is about one hour. Relatively speaking, tape hair is more flexible.
*The cost and production time difference:
Because the hand-tied is 100% handmade, the price is calculated according to an inch in the production, so the price is higher only from the manual cost. And the hand-tied is a kind of weaving, the top needs a piece of return hair to fix, usually 2", which also increases some costs from the raw materials, especially if you buy hair longer than 20", the cost will be relatively higher some.
Tape-in also requires some labor cost, but the price is relatively low, and the production time is faster and more controllable.
Is hand-tied suitable for all hair types?
Customers with straight and wavy hair are suitable for hand-tied wefts because the beads are more suitable for the scalp and can be combed near the roots of the hair under the beads.
Tape-in hair is also suitable for straight and wavy hair types and provides natural results. But for customers who want to do curly hair, we recommend sewing weft hair extensions.
